Our school’s admissions policy is designed to ensure a fair and transparent process

We select students who demonstrate the aptitude and potential to thrive in our academically challenging environment.

Entrance Tests and Interview

The entrance tests evaluate applicants’ proficiency in core subjects. The scores obtained in the online entrance tests will form a substantial basis for admissions decisions. Higher scores indicate a stronger academic fit with our school’s rigorous curriculum.

All applicants Undertake an oral interview in English with a senior staff member to assess their communication skills, personal qualities, and motivation to join our school community. The interview will also provide an opportunity for applicants to ask questions about our school.

Test Preparation

Our school encourages applicants to prepare for the entrance tests by reviewing the relevant subject material covered in their current Grade level.

Entrance Assessments

Applicants sit the online Cambridge assessments in Reading, Mathematics, and Developed ability (20 mins each, approximately one hour). Grade 1 and 2 applicants are guided through the online assessments with a senior member of staff, and they may also be placed in a group and observed for an 1 – 2 hour to assess English language ability, social skills and school readiness.

Admissions Decision

The final admissions decision will be made by the Executive Principal. The decision will be based on a holistic review of the applicants’ entrance test scores, interview performance, and academic records, taking into account the school’s ethos, traditions, philosophy and values.

Successful applicants will have a genuine and intrinsic love of learning; and are able to assimilate into all aspects of school life.
ACS Bali also strives to maintain a balanced cultural diversity in an international setting for students to learn in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment. The final decision will be communicated to parents or guardians in writing. Exact scores in the tests will not be provided.

All enrolments are conditional until the required fees are paid. Payment of the fees confirms the enrolment for both the family and the school.

Confidentiality

All applicant information and assessment results will be treated with strict confidentiality and used solely for the purpose of the admissions process.

Siblings

Siblings will be given special consideration in order to try to keep family members together.

Internal Progression

Students will progress to the next year level unless there are serious concerns about his/her academic performance during the course of the year. In these few cases a meeting with the parents will be held to discuss options which may be to repeat the year, or obtain extra tuition over the summer holidays, or give conditional entrance to the next grade level.

To progress from Junior School to Senior School, students must pass the Cambridge Checkpoint assessments.

To progress to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, students must meet the minimum entry criteria from IGCSE / O Levels.
